Editorial policy

Mode should be useful because readers can tell where information came from, what Mode added and why the coverage is here.

Creator-derived features identify and credit the original creator or source. Mode summaries, research, analysis, headlines and commentary are presented as Mode editorial work rather than as the creator’s own words.

Independent researched stories are grounded in attributable sources. When a fact is time-sensitive or materially affects the article, Mode aims to use current authoritative information and to update or correct material errors when they are identified.

Sponsored relationships, affiliate links and other commercial considerations do not purchase favorable conclusions. A company, product or affiliate partner may receive critical coverage, comparisons with competitors, or no coverage at all.

Mode does not intentionally reproduce creator work as a substitute for the original. Creator-source links are preserved so readers can reach the original material, and rights or takedown concerns can be submitted through the Contact page.
